We have a two-day event planned for 2015!

This two day event will have a distance for everyone.

Our new Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon and Bosom Buddy Relay, benefiting SMHC’s Center for Breast Care, is a gorgeous 13.1 mile loop that starts and finishes on the Biddeford campus of UNE.  It shares the same finish line as the Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon.

On Saturday, we have the Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon with a course that rivals the Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon for scenic beauty.  We also have the Bosom Buddy Relay where two runners will team up to run 7.25 miles and 5.85 miles, respectively, to complete the Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon Course.

On Sunday we have the Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon, back for its 11th year (we had a 25 year absence from 1988-2012).  We have retained the same course as 1980-1986* and runners will not be disappointed with the beauty of the Maine Coast.

Finally, for those who are looking for a full weekend of fun, there is the 39.3 Challenge.  These runners will run the Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon on Saturday and the Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon on Sunday.  They will get a finisher medal for each race along with a finisher jacket for completing the 39.3 Challenge.

Plan on spending the weekend and enjoying the races and the stunning natural beauty of The Maine Coast. (Don’t wait too long to register.  In 2014, the marathon sold-out in February, so don’t wait and miss-out in 2015 on one of the 1,000 marathon spots one of the 1,200 spots for the debut of the half marathon.)

The 2015 Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon has been designated as the 2015 RRCA State of Maine Marathon Championship Race.

After the video was recorded, we altered the direction on part of the half marathon course.  Be sure to review the course directions and don’t rely on the video for the course direction in Biddeford Pool.

*In 1987, The Maine Coast Marathon was run on a loop course that started and ended at UNE.
